Congratulations to all the swimmers that broke CGA Champs Records – List Herewith. Many Thanks to all the clubs for your support and assistance over the past year. S14 Classifications happening at CGA Champs
The Intellectually Impaired are being classified at the CGA championships. On application to IPC, CGA Championships was granted permission to host 2 International IPC classifiers for the Intellectually Impaired. The hosting country/province has to bear the cost of bringing the classifiers to the championships. Swim South Africa is very kindly bearing this cost
Two IPC accredited classifiers were appointed by IPC for the CGA Championships and they are Ingi Þór Einarsson and Sigurbjörn Árni Arngrímsson, both from Iceland.
In order for the Intellectually Impaired to get a confirmed classification status they need have 2 international classifications done by IPC accredited Classifiers. For most of the SA swimmers this will be their second classification and hopefully they will get a confirmed classification status.
As a result of hosting an International IPC classification for Intellectually Impaired we have swimmers from Hong Kong and Russia competing in the CGA championships in order for them to get classified.
